Hi! My name is Allan. I’m in my early thirties and I live in Canada, one of the greatest country in the world, but also one of the coldest!
I am the masked blogger.
Why am I masked?
Simply because like you I’m chained! A corporation owns my time. My house and car are owned by banks. I’m a modern slave and this blog is my silent rebellion.
And, in this world where we all pretend that we are free, having opinions or worst, giving the impression that we have some, can cost you your job, your life, your future! I currently can’t afford it… Not yet!
I am not millionnaire. I am not rich. I am not free. I don’t have yet what’s needed to free myself from my chains. I am, like you, one among so many others.
We are all gladiators
But, I can tell you that I’m a modern gladiator. Everyday, I fight in the arena knowing that my life could be better, that my life could be different. I know that I’m worth more than that. I know that I still have a million things to do before I die and that my life cannot only be what it is right now : work every day again and again to get the salary I need to stay alive only to continue the same cycle over and over again, take two or three weeks of vacation per year and live that time like a prisoner on permission who haven’t seen the sun for years.
Fortunately, I have a plan! I will escape this prison! I’m digging my way out slowly but surely.
It was easy to make the decision. But knowing what to do to reach my goal was somewhat not that easy until it stroke me.
I could simply do like the riches do!
Do like the riches
But, why are some people rich? How did they become rich? Is it by chance? Is it because their family was rich? Is it because they had contacts? Many are saying that to make money, you first need money. And me, I didn’t even have a penny in my pockets when I first started. So many questions… no answers… My parents, school, the medias… None of them had taught me how to free myself and own my time. They only showed me how to be a good worker, to be there on time, bring back some work home at the end of the day and repeat the cycle over and over again.
In fact, they trained me like a Pavlov dog with the help of a school bell. At 8h55, the bell rings and you have to be seated in class by 9am. At 10h30, the bell rings for a 15 minutes break. At 10h40, it rings again to tell you to go back… Until the lunch bell rings and then the break and the end of the day… We all know the story but did you ever realize what they were programming in your brain?
I spent months reading books, thinking about what I could do to change my future to finally realize that I only had to keep things simple.
Keep things simple to get rich
If you want to lose weight, it’s very simple, eat less calories and burn more calories by doing exercise. It’s simple but it’s not easy!
To get financially free, the same applies.
Spend less than you earn.
Use the excess capital to reach financial freedom by paying off your debts and by investing the rest in income generating assets.
This is a simple plan and that’s why it is so powerful and that it will work. But this is not going to be an easy plan! All the society is against it. The system wants us to be customers, to spend more than we earn and endebt ourselves to consume more.
One day, this will need to have an end.
Gandhi said that you should be the change you want to see happen in the world.
This guy was smarter than me. But, I can learn.
This blog is my journey from zero to financial freedom. From now on, I’m going to dedicate all my efforts and savings on creating passive sources of income! Dividend growth investing will be my main approach but I will also explore other ways of becoming financially free or free from the chains of a 9 to 5 job!
Follow me if you are a gladiator too! We will retire early! We will retire rich!
