While I was updating my blog, I wanted to have a static page as my homepage while having a couple of recent posts excerpts showing from the blog. Circle or circular images are cool nowadays so I wanted some on my homepage too!
In order to do that, I have installed the Recent Posts Widget Extended plugin which is a great one but the standard images are square and tiny. I had to make them look more cool.
I searched a lot on Google about how to make round pictures with that plugin but was unable to find what I was seeking for. So, as usual, I decided to jump into coding and CSS and try to figure it out.
Here’s how to make your featured post image circular or round with the Recent Posts Widget Extended plugin.
What it will look like

First, let’s look at what it will look like :
- This blog post was written by my friend Mr. Hippie de Land Rover or better known as Erik Flores. Erik and his wife Mrs. HdLR as well as their Mini. …
- Again, I’m really short on time but I just wanted to post my recent buy. Since those titles have been hit pretty hard recently by the recent market conditions and …
- I’m a bit in a hurry but wanted to share with you guys my recent buy. Today I bought 35 shares of Donaldson for 34,31$ with a yield of roughly …
That’s what you want?
How to do it
Simply go to your dashboard/appearance/Edit CSS and enter the following (click on the picture for a clearer view) :
You’d like to see bigger image?
Add these two arguments to the shortcode and enter the number of pixels you wish to have. Here I inputed a 100 by 100 image. Make sure to enter a square image here because if you don’t, you won’t get a round circular image in the end :
I hope this helped?!
Any questions about this widget? I played a lot with it so I might be able to help you out… or not. Feel free to ask.
