Am I eligible to donate plasma for money?
If you have a type O blood type, you are normally considered as the most desirable “universal donor”. Why? Because your blood type does not contain the A or B antigens. So your blood could be transfused to most people.
But for plasma, things are a little different…
Some blood donation centers might only take the plasma from AB donors because their plasma will not contain the antibodies that may react with the person in need.
So for plasma donation, it is not the O type that is considered the universal donor, but the AB type!
But, whatever you type, your plasma might be needed! So give it a try and call a donation center to donate plasma for money.
